Got a Mo' to Gimme Your Thinks? Reply!

You name it! What would you like to see more of?

Happy Weekend! We’ve been in our new spot for about eight weeks and I’m seeing buying trends take shape. It’s been fun to watch and I’m going to rearrange over the next few days with those in mind. Here’s where you come in! I’m looking at what to buy more of as I embark on our first big replenish and this morning I said to myself, what if I ASK my PPB family what they want?? I’ve trusted you for 10 years to tell me what to do, so I’m asking: Gotta minute to help me buy wisely? You’re the BEST, I know this is a big ask but we will be better for it. Just copy/paste these wee questions, hit reply and your words go straight to my eyes only.

So, if PPB had bookcases stocked with your ideal, must-buy titles or genres in fiction, what would they be?

  • Paperbacks or hardcovers?

  • Pleasing reads or award winners?

  • Issue-driven or pleasing reads?

  • Classic or contemporary?

  • Best sellers or PPB favorites?

  • Expand or contract children’s section?

We knew when we moved that by FAR, we have in 10 years sold mostly fiction and children’s books and that in our smaller space, we’d need to prioritize those genres. But still, we can make room for what you’d love to have available, so:

What about nonfiction?

  • How often do you buy or gift cookbooks?

  • How often do you buy or gift nonfiction?

  • Nature, science, history, living well titles?

What about cards and gifts?

We’ve learned more about how to stock and stage our dear 107 West Willow and I’d love your thoughts:

  • Like to see more season whimsy and gifts? What about “things you need when you read” like candles, mugs, and bookmarks?

  • Missing our greeting card wall/stationery offerings or not so much? Can do, if you want to!

One thing is for sure — y’all are loving our Once Read offering! I feel great about it, and here’s a wee film of me going through (some) of my cookbooks and deciding whether to donate to PPB’s Once Read. You’ll see — most cookbooks I clutch to my heart and say, “NO NEVER will I let you go!” and others I get real honest about and ... let them go. Enjoy! Click here to learn more about Once Read.
