Women & Ambition Series (part 2)

Sundays, April 8 and 15 at 2:00 p.m.

“Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.” -Unknown

If you’ve ever tolerated my “origin story” for Prairie Path Books, you’ll know that I really struggled to align my ambitious lawyer self with my mother of three reality.  First I transitioned to part-time legal professional and then when my youngest was two, I decided to leave the paid workplace and stay at home with Hannah, Emma and Tom. Twelve years later I started Prairie Path Books.  My 25-year friend Betsy and I met when I was a lawyer for McDonald’s Corporation and she was part-time in their Marketing Department; she had been full-time and decided to shorten her hours when her sons were born.  She stayed ambitious all throughout our friendship and has collected many experiences - of her own and from her zabillion friends.  For years we’ve talked about a series examining women and ambition during the decades of their working years, through the lens of life changes.  Spring seems like the perfect opportunity to gather women and discuss ambition so we are reading up on the latest literature re what women can do to anticipate and even embrace transition while holding tight to our ambitious selves.  Please join us as we share our experiences and all we’ve read and learned in an interactive series designed to enlighten and inspire.
