Lee Shoquist. Editor of ChicagoFilm.com, member of the Chicago Film Critics Association and Film Discussion Leader

We all know about book clubs, well hey — my friend Betsy is in a Movie Club! I had to ask “how fun, what’s that?” Everyone watches the movie on their own and then comes together for snacks and bevs and a leader guides the club. Well, we know a guy that leads film discussions in the Chicago area, Lee Shoquist! Lee goes through industry trends, background on the month’s movie and its production origins with lots of anecdotes, some fancy “formal elements” of the movie and its genre that he learned as a Film major, plus fun Hollywood news. Throughout of course, he asks guided questions to get the group’s opinions and experiences with the film.

Please join us on March 3d at 2:00 p.m. to meet Lee. We will discuss the Oscar-Nominated film “Get Out”, PLUS Lee will handicap the Academy Awards for us, through his knowledgeable lens of industry statistics plus current social forces influencing not only nominations but likely the winners. (The Oscars are on March 4th.)

Isn’t this a fun way to spend a pre-Oscar Saturday? “Get Out” is available for viewing free on OnDemand.

SOLD OUT!

Movie won’t be shown @ PPB, please watch on your own.
