“Yesterday I had a delightful chat with a customer from England and of course within minutes I had to tell her that I am Scottish and we set right to sharing stories. Most everyone knows I’m Scottish within a short time of meeting me because I am a proud MacGregor. She asked me - seeing my PPB kitchen - if we host a Burns Supper, a traditional night of celebrating Robert Burns’ poetry and his birthday - with plenty of ethnic goodies to go around. How could I have overlooked a Burns Supper on our PPB events’ list?? Of course, Jenny must read poetry aloud, and we both will cook from the new cookbook based on Diana Gabaldon’s wonderful book series “Outlander”. Yummy goodness like Cock-A-Leekie (chicken soup with leeks), Bangers and Mash (sausage and potatoes), Oatmeal Scones with Clotted Cream, and Banoffee Trifle (gingerbread + chocolate trifle).
Slàinte! (Cheers!) —Sandy
